Can you name that bloom? – Abilene Reporter-News

I'm sure when people see the current crop of lavender colored blooms, they just think, "Hey, that's a good looking plant." Maybe they also think something about how much they would like to have one of them in their yard. Anyway, there are some pretty good-looking, blooming plants out there right now that are somewhat reminiscent of how crape myrtles bloom, at least they are if you are driving by at 30 mph or better. Lilacs are a bushy type plant that, as mentioned, generally blooms early in the spring, with numerous small, fairly showy, flowers.
