With each passing year, I find these meditations on growing older become increasingly common. Still I was driven to deeper reflection on this topic recently when my employer offered free biometric screenings to all employees. When the biometric screening comes to your office, it takes procrastination out of the equation. Mine were fine, with no indications of looming health problems. I drove home pondering this, the niggling irritation of it somehow overshadowing the gift card I’d just earned or the clean bill of health I’d otherwise received.
