SALT LAKE CITY — The extended deadline to file for state and federal taxes is rapidly approaching with filings due next week, with IRS data suggesting there are still a significant number of returns still outstanding. “We expect to see modest growth in the number of income tax filings each year but, to date, the number of income returns filed is down, ” said Tammy Kikuchi, spokeswoman for the Utah Tax Commission.
