As someone who writes,  studies and speaks about productivity for a living, I always tell people how dangerous it is to adopt this hustle mentality — because it causes us to precrastinate. That's not a typo: Originally coined by David Rosenbaum, a psychology professor at the University of California, Riverside, "precrastination" is a little-known productivity trap in which we rush too quickly into tasks. Rather than taking the time to write back in a thoughtful and deliberate manner or schedule a call to discuss, you send back a series of half-baked replies.
